SEATTLE, March 15 (Reuters) – A prominent Seattle defense attorney said on Thursday he is to represent the U.S. soldier at the center of the Afghanistan massacre in which 16 Afghans, mostly women and children, were killed at the weekend.

The soldier’s brigade is based at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, south of Seattle. It is not yet known where he will be tried.
